We set our pool up and had clear water the first 3 days last year, and from then on, it was HORRIBLE. 
We did everything (chemical-related) and the whole season stunk - no clarity, green, 
just questionable to even be in. The cartridge filter included with the pool was crap. 
We couldn't buy enough filters to keep it working well, we hated the idea of all the chemicals we had to add. 
It made life very difficult! AND it increased our electric bill about $100 a month! We then left the filter in 
the shed over the winter, where it froze the grease in the motor and no longer worked for this season. 
THANK GOD! So we did THIS....
